The State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO) signed a partnership agreement with the Publicity Department of CPC Tangshan Municipal Committee in Beijing on June 4. 

The agreement dedicates both sides to developing the cultural sector in both cities.

The two sides will promote cultural communication and collaboration between Beijing and Tangshan in fields such as the protection and utilization of traditional culture, the integrated development of culture and tourism, as well as communication in performing arts.

Advancing industrial integration, resource sharing and the coordinated development of the cultural creative sector in Beijing and Tangshan is a way we can spur coordinated development of the whole Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, said Dong Dianyi, deputy director of SOCASAO. 

We encourage Beijing to play a full role as our national center of culture, he said.

It is now vital that both sides specify the exact details of their plans and implement them, in order to realize the integrated development that we all want to see, Dong added.
