Beijing and Hong Kong sign contracts for 10.82 billion
The project release and contract signing ceremony of the 21st Beijing- Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium was held in Hong Kong on November 29. At the ceremony, 24 investment projects of various types and with a total value of 10.82 billion dollars were signed.

Tan Xuxiang, director of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, delivered a speech at the contract signing ceremony in which he introduced Beijing’s efforts to improve its business environment. Tan said that Beijing has taken 136 measures to promote investment and business since September, adding that he looked forward to further cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong.
More than 300 events have been organized by the Beijing- Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium since 1997. Through project releases, investment negotiations, contract signing, research communication, and exhibitions, the symposium has greatly enhanced cooperation between the two cities in infrastructure, biological medicine, financial service, urban governance, and environmental protection. More than 500 contracts have been signed over the years, worth in total about 75 billion dollars.
