The 1st Beijing People Beneficial Cultural Consumption Season

Dates: September to November, 2013

Hosted by the Beijing Stated-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO) and some other administrative units, the 1st Beijing People Beneficial Cultural Consumption Season and the Seminar on Beijing Cultural & Creative Industry opened in September, 2013 at the Beijing International Hotel. 

Theme:

The theme of the Season was “Consumption of culture, taste of life”. It was promoted on the principles of government guidance, market operation, frugality and benefit to citizens. The event was intended to foster the concept and development of cultural consumption, motivate people to take part in cultural activities to enrich their lives, further expand the public cultural consumption market and generally advance that industry.

Achievements:

During the two months of the event, a total of 26.5 million people took part in the season, with consumption amounting to 5.23 billion RMB.

Highlights:

The season was sponsored by government in order to foster good cultural consumption concepts and behavior.

Platforms were initiated at that time for direct connection between cultural enterprises and consumers.

All the activities held during the season were provided with funding and publicity.

The season resolved to: Make sure citizens benefit from cultural consumption by issuing Beijing Cultural-Easy Cards and launching mass cultural activities.
