The four-day 2017 Beijing Cultural Creative Industry Exhibition opened in the Taipei World Trade Center on April 26.
The exhibition, with a theme of “Exchange, cooperation and development”, was divided into several areas such as traditional craftwork products, calligraphy, painting, jewelry and other arts.
A promotional conference and a designer forum, both for cultural creative industries., were held at the same day. Promotions by companies from the Fangshan district of Beijing, such as Junengdingli Technology Co Ltd, and Tongyuantang Cultural Development Co Ltd, stimulated great interest in entrepreneurs from Taiwan.
Eleven Beijing enterprises signed cooperation agreements with their counterparts from Taiwan involving approximately 50 million yuan ($7.25 million) in areas such as copyright authorization, performance cooperation and product sales.
In the designer forum the chiefs of Beijing Gongmei Group Co Ltd and Taiwan Pace Design Co Ltd delivered keynote speeches and designers shared their industry experience.
The attendees agreed that designers from the two cities should strengthen cooperation and promote the fusion of traditional culture and creative design and the improvement of the quality of modern design.
The exhibition, an important exchange platform in the cultural creative industry between Beijing and Taipei, has been held eight times since 2009.
This year's exhibition is hosted by several organizations including State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office(SOCASAO), the sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing, and the Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage. The exhibition was held to promote traditional Chinese culture and effective connections of ideas, capital and talents between Taipei and Beijing.
