The 2017 New Year Reception for Foreign Journalists in China was held at the Beijing Culture and Creative Industry Exhibition Center on the evening of Jan 12. Around 600 people were present including foreign correspondents and diplomats, officials from the central ministries and principals of major media.

Wang Chao, vice-foreign minister; Li Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal Party Committee and minister of the Beijing Publicity Department; Lu Kang, the director-general of the MFA’s Information Department; and Zhou Maofei, the director-general of SOCASAO attended the reception.

Before the reception, SOCASAO showed the guests around the Beijing Culture and Creative Industry Exhibition Center and demonstrated the fruitful results of the capital’s creative industry’s development. Guests also took part in the culture and science interactive activities. They spoke highly of the display items at the center and expressed a strong interest in the development of the capital’s creative industry.
