A delegation led by Baroness Neville-Rolfe DBE CMG, UK's Minister of State for Energy and Intellectual Property, paid a visit to the Beijing State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO) on Aug 24.
The delegation also visited the Beijing Cultural Creative Exhibition Center and Beijing Cultural Economic Policy Service Platform.
Deputy Director General of SOCASAO, Yang Yong'an, introduced the office's responsibilities, the development of Beijing's cultural creative industries, and the city's policies and measures in promoting them.
Neville-Rolfe expressed interest in the projects at the exhibition and spoke highly of the development of the cultural creative industry in Beijing.
She said that the visit enhanced their understanding of the cultural creative industry in Beijing and they expect further cooperation with Beijing in cultural trade, primarily film and intellectual property, so as to achieve mutual benefit.
She also invited officials from SOCASAO to visit the UK and hold talks on investment and trade opportunities in the cultural sector.
Neville-Rolfe was on a visit to China invited by the State Intellectual Property Office and paid a special tour to investigate Beijing's cultural creative industry.
