The 31st Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) opened at the China National Convention Center on June 18. Originally published in June by the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics Press, the book is part of Sichuan's 2024–2025 Key Book Publishing Plan. As a flagship title in the Shudao (ancient roads to Sichuan) documentation series, the book offers an in-depth and systematic exploration of the historical evolution, cultural significance, and enduring legacy of the ancient Shudao, drawing on extensive archival research and field studies.

The English edition is an abridged and carefully translated version of the original Chinese work, tailored for international readership. At the ceremony, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics Press, Springer Nature, and Beijing Huilan International Cultural Communication Co signed a tripartite strategic agreement. Under the agreement, Palgrave Macmillan, an imprint of Springer Nature, will publish and distribute the English edition internationally, marking a successful export of Chinese intellectual property.

In recent years, local efforts have accelerated the research and preservation of Shudao culture. A series of milestone achievements have emerged, including the publication of The Shu Roads Library and The History of China's Shu Roads, the national broadcast of documentaries such as The Cuiyun Corridor and Sixty Years of Shu Road Bonds, and the rising popularity of themed events like Shudao hiking festivals. These efforts aim to tell compelling stories of the Shudao and amplify China's cultural voice on the world stage.
