The highly anticipated 2024 Sichuan Ice and Hot Spring Tourism Festival is set to open on Jan 9 at the Zengjia Mountain Scenic Area in Guangyuan, Sichuan province. This vibrant celebration will run through February, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the charm of winter tourism in southern China.

The festival promises an array of engaging activities designed to captivate and entertain. Highlights include a Parallel Giant Slalom Skiing Invitational Tournament and enchanting themed night tours that transform streets into magical "frozen" landscapes. Visitors can also enjoy the immersive combination of ice and hot spring tourism, as well as a stunning photo exhibition that showcases the allure of Sichuan's winter scenery.

Zengjia Mountain is renowned for its rich ice and snow resources, boasting over 90 days of snow cover annually. As one of Sichuan's prime destinations for winter tourism, the area has established the largest ski resort in northern Sichuan.

Taking this event as an opportunity, the region has further enhanced its offerings by unveiling the Zengjia Mountain Original Ice and Snow Park, featuring snow-themed installations, intricate sculptures and colorful lantern displays.

Food and culture are central to the festivities. Guests can savor local delicacies such as Guangyuan braised bread, Jiange spicy skewers and Wangcang sour and spicy noodles, while tea lovers can sample Guangyuan Yellow Tea and Qifo Tribute Tea.

The 14th Qinba Mountain Region New Year Goods Festival will also take place during this period, featuring local specialties like walnut cookies and crispy twists. In addition, visitors can explore traditional craftsmanship through demonstrations of Maliu embroidery and Baihua stone carving, bringing a warm and artistic touch to their experience.
