According to the local culture and tourism authority, since May 1 and up to May 31, 2025, passengers taking high-speed rail to Guangyuan, in Southwest China's Sichuan province, simply for travel purposes are entitled to a 30 percent discount on tickets at all national A-level tourist attractions.
This discount is available for one week from the date of arrival, provided the passengers present their ID cards and high-speed rail tickets at the ticket purchase location.
Major holidays (New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day) are not included in the discount period.
Since ancient times, Guangyuan has been a significant gateway to Sichuan, showcasing a rich tapestry of the ancient plank road culture from the Pre-Qin Dynasty (2100-221 BC). With a 5A-level scenic spot, 21 4A-level scenic spots, and 19 3A-level scenic spots, Guangyuan offers visitors a wealth of exploration opportunities.
A local media reporter found that the regular 130 yuan ($17.99) ticket price of the 5A- level Jianmen Pass Scenic Area drops during the discount period to only 91 yuan. Regular ticket prices of 4A scenic spots are mainly between 50 and 70 yuan.
