Guangyuan village sites added to state protection list
Five traditional villages in Guangyuan, Sichuan province, have been added to the state protection list amid efforts to promote heritage conservation, according to a notice from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

The featured villages are: Yueba village in the city's Lizhou district, Zhaobi village in Zhaohua district, Liutian and Baxing villages in Qingchuan county.
The ministry, together with five other government organs, has so far brought a total of 8,155 traditional villages under state protection in six batches.
Traditional villages refer to long-established villages with material and intangible cultural heritage, which can reflect national or regional cultural characteristics.
At present, the city vows to establish and improve the archives of traditional villages, and guide the villages to draw up protection plans to strengthen the protection and utilization of the villages.
