VIII. The 2020 ECUPL International Intellectual Property Forum is held in Shanghai

The 2020 ECUPL International Intellectual Property Forum – a sub-forum of the 17th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum – was held at the East China University of Political Science and Law, or ECUPL, in Shanghai on Oct 22, 2020.

The forum aimed to explore judicial innovations in trade secrets protection in the context of new science and technology.

Rui Wenbiao, director general of SIPA and Zhou Lizhi, vice-principal of ECUPL, attended and addressed the forum.

IX. WIPO China Office Director Liu Hua visits SIPA

Liu Hua, director of the WIPO China office, visited SIPA on Nov 4, 2020 and was received by Rui Weibiao, director-general of SIPA.

The two had in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation in the field of IP.

X. Training course on the Effective Use of WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Services held in Shanghai

A training course on the Effective Use of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Services – organized by the WIPO China Office and SIPA – was held in Shanghai on Nov 24, 2020.

Liu Hua, director of the WIPO China Office, delivered a speech via video link. Lyu Guoqiang, senior advisor of the WIPO China Office; Rui Wenbiao, the director general of SIPA; Lin Benchu, the director of the Pudong New Area Intellectual Property Office and Li Shulan, the vice-president of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, attended the opening ceremony.

XI. The first graduation ceremony for international students of the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property

The first graduation ceremony of the WIPO-Tongji Master Degree Program in Intellectual Property Law and the Chinese Government Master Degree Program in Intellectual Property was held in Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property, Tongji University on July 2, 2020.

Yuan Qi, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation of CNIPA; Joe Bradley, head of the Academic Institutions Program, WIPO Academy; Lyu Guoqiang, senior advisor of the WIPO China Office; Rui Wenbiao, director general of SIPA; Shi Weidong, vice-president of the Shanghai Law Society and vice-principal of Tongji University attended the graduation ceremony and delivered speeches.

XII. The 2020 WIPO-China Summer School on Intellectual Property opens at East China University of Political Science and Law

The WIPO-China Summer School on Intellectual Property opened at the Changning campus of East China University of Political Science and Law on Sept 14, 2020, marking the fourth time that the program has been held at the university.

Deng Yuhua, consultant of the WIPO China Office, Rui Wenbiao, director general of SIPA and Ye Qing, principal of the university, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
