The 2023 G60 Shanghai Sheshan Half Marathon was held on April 22 in Songjiang district, attracting 5,000 runners from home and abroad to enjoy the splendid event and the wonderful spring scenery.
The 21.0975-kilometer race passed through famous scenic spots such as Sheshan National Forest Park, Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park and Songjiang University Town. The track was wide and flat, surrounded by green trees and flowers.
The event was named after the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, a high-tech industrial belt that connects Shanghai and six cities in neighboring Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. The event aimed to showcase Songjiang's cultural and ecological innovation and promote its high-quality development.

Sintayehu Dinksa Jena from Ethiopia won the men's championship with a time of 1 hour 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Ebesie Ayele Balcha, also from Ethiopia, won the women's championship with a time of 1 hour 9 minutes and 47 seconds, breaking an event record.
Zhang Zhihao and Pan Hong won the domestic men's and women's championships respectively. They both praised the track setting, the weather condition, the audience enthusiasm and the supply points.
Many runners also expressed their admiration for Songjiang's beauty and vitality. Wang Miaomiao, a company head who settled in Songjiang last year, said she felt more confident in her entrepreneurial development in Songjiang after participating in the race.
Cai Bin, a professional photographer who has been running for nearly 10 years, said he felt refreshed and inspired by the track environment. "I have participated in some marathon events in China and I feel that the Songjiang Half Marathon is doing very well," he said.
