Shanghai Happy Valley will hold the International Taoqu Festival to welcome tourists for the upcoming National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7.
Shanghai Happy Valley is a large-scale amusement park and a popular attraction in the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort. It is one of the largest theme parks with the most advanced technologies, high-quality amusement facilities, and abundant cultural activities in China.
A series of activities including musical performances, parent-child activities, plays and shows will be held during the festival.
Among them, the biggest highlight is a music event that features exciting musical performances by idols, rappers and bands. Visitors can dance to music and take part in interactive activities to immerse themselves in a euphoric atmosphere.
The Poetic Genius play scheduled to be staged during the festival is another highlight. It showcases the charms of poetry from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and traditional Chinese culture to children through various performances and interactive games.
To mark the National Day holiday, a sing-along activity has also been scheduled to fill visitors with a festive and patriotic spirit. Visitors can also watch national-level intangible cultural heritage performances like puppet shows.
A DIY carton production activity is also included in the activities, allowing parents and kids to play together and let the kids wear adorable carton dresses.
In Shanghai Happy Valley's 700 square meter ice sculpture theme park, visitors may also enjoy artificial snowfall.
Additionally, affordable tickets for vacationers have been introduced. They can only be used over the holiday and are on sale until Sept 30, including the family ticket, which costs 520 yuan ($72.91)and accommodates two adults and a child, and the parent-child ticket, which costs 349 yuan and accommodates an adult and a child.
Due to COVID-19 control and prevention requirements, online ticket reservations are required. Visitors can enter the park with their ID cards, but the number of daily visitors is capped at 75 percent of the park's maximum capacity.
According to COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control requirements, visitors must undergo body temperature, health code and venue code checks, wear masks, and show a negative nucleic acid test result taken within 72 hours prior to entry. Those with temperatures above 37.3℃, and those who have yellow or red health codes, will be prohibited to enter.
Shanghai Happy Valley is open from 9 am to 9:30 pm during the holiday.
