Sheshan resort aims for 14.7m tourists by 2025

Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort aims to attract 14.7 million tourists and earn 1.87 billion yuan ($293.76 million) in tourism revenue by 2025, according to its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).

Goals set out in the development plan also include attracting more overnight tourists from outside Shanghai and maintaining a tourist satisfaction rating of more than 85 percent.

To achieve these goals, Sheshan resort will strive to promote scenic spots in the resort at a higher level, improve the tourism infrastructure and further integrate cultural and tourism resources, according to the plan.

To improve tourists' experiences, steps such as providing more convenient transit, generating detailed digital maps, and improving public signs will be implemented..

The resort will also introduce more businesses to offer food and shopping services.

The Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort, also known as the "backyard garden of Shanghai", is a popular tourism destination that is located in Shanghai's Songjiang district.

It is home to five 4A-level tourist attractions: Shanghai Happy Valley, Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park, Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, Shanghai Sheshan National Forest Park and Shanghai Moon Lake Sculpture Park, and three five-star hotels, namely InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, Yuluxe Sheshan and Sofitel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental Resort.
