Shanghai Happy Valley will hold the Guochao Festival featuring traditional Chinese culture-themed activities for Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations.
Guochao, or China-Chic, is characterized by the rising Chinese cultural tide. The festival will consist of grand Chinese music shows, contests between rival lion dance troupes, intangible cultural heritage fairs and performances blending traditional and modern culture.
The event will be held from the start of the Spring Festival on the first day of the first lunar month, which falls on Feb 1 this year, and will last until the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month, which falls on Feb 15 this year.
Early-bird entry tickets for Shanghai Happy Valley during the timeframe mentioned above are currently on sale until Jan 31. The prices of the tickets are 199 yuan ($31.48) per person and 520 yuan per family (including two adults and one child or teen).
Shanghai Happy Valley is a 4A-level tourist attraction located within the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort. Covering an area of 650,000 square meters, the amusement park is divided into seven themed zones. A variety of entertainment facilities, including different kinds of rollercoasters imported from the United States and Switzerland, can be found here.
