The 2021 Shanghai City Amateur League Paddleboard Open and the 2021 Songjiang Kayak Invitational Tournament were held on Sept 5 at Shanghai Moon Lake Sculpture Park in Sheshan National Tourist Resort.
The competitions were divided into a men’s singles paddleboard 200 meter race, a women's singles paddleboard 200 m race, and a kayaking open group doubles 200 m race, attracting about 90 young contestants.
The events were organized by Shenxin Master Water Sports Club and the sports bureau of Shanghai's Songjiang district to promote water sports in an effort to build Songjiang into a destination for outdoor sports.
Shenxin Master Water Sports Club is one of the few private clubs in Songjiang district for water sports. It has hosted many training classes and events for the public and for professional athletes.
It is a professional facility accredited by the American Sailing Association (ASA) and has ASA training programs, including basic keelboat sailing, basic coastal cruising, bareboat cruising, coastal navigation sailing, as well as basic small boat sailing. The club is well equipped and can serve 100 people in playing water sports simultaneously.
