The three-star Shanghai Sheshan Forest Hotel reopened on March 23 after closing in late January due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Guests are required to present their health QR codes, have their temperatures taken, wear masks, and maintain a distance of no less than 1.5 meters from other people. Those with abnormal temperatures will not be allowed to enter.

The hotel covers an area of more than 32 hectares and is located half way up the Sheshan Mountain. It is a great place to escape summer heat.

The remotely located hotel gives visitors a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. People can relax in their rooms and enjoy the peace and quiet, try out some local specialties at the restaurant halfway up the mountain, or go for a hike.

The hotel is only a three-minute walk from the bus station, 35 kilometers from the Shanghai Railway Station and a 30-minute drive from the Hongqiao Airport.

The hotel offers restaurants, dance halls, an auditorium, saunas, rooms for card games and chess, and tennis courts. It also has conference rooms to host business and academic research meetings.

In addition, it boasts more than 100 bamboo shoot gourmet dishes including cold appetizers, hot dishes, and desserts made using a variety of cooking methods, such as braising, frying, simmering, boiling, and steaming.

Shanghai is expected to experience some cold weather this weekend. Temperatures are likely to drop by 11 degrees Celsius on Friday, and the current highs of above 20 degrees will become a thing of the past. So guests are advised to bring some winter clothes if they plan on visiting Sheshan Mountain.
