Sitting on water lily

Boasting extraordinary carrying capacity, royal water lilies can hold up a hundred pounds of weight while floating on water, delighting children. Dressing up in a variety of costumes, children can experience the great carrying capacity of a lotus boat and also have a rare intimate interaction with their father dressed up in waterproof clothing. Ask a staff member to take a photo so that you can save and savor the wonderful moment.

Creative workshop

Children can sit down and make handicrafts with their parents in the Children's Botanical Garden's amusement facilities. Chenshan Botanical Garden carries out all sorts of fun activities on holidays and festivals, including rose soap making, paper folding and leaf collage. The activities not only exercise children's hands-on ability, but also enable them to unconsciously learn about plants as they are playing.

Chenshan Fantastic Night summer camp

One of the unique opportunities for children at Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden is the Chenshan Fantastic Night Summer Camp. This highly rated and popular program was created to let children have fun and learn at the same time. They are encouraged to engage in hands-on scientific exploration as they build team-working skills and independent thinking. This is a great way to encourage young scientists.

Open day at research centers

To give more citizens and visitors a deeper understanding of Chenshan Botanical Garden as well as the charm and importance of botanical research, the garden organizes scientific research open day activities every year, including face-to-face meetings with scientists, watching specimen digitization, entering the laboratory and visiting the research nursery, all activities to popularize scientific concepts.

Horticulture lecture

To make knowledge of plants accessible to the public, Chenshan Botanical Garden carries out more than 10 popular science forums with different themes on an irregular basis every year. The forums are open to citizens for free and involve experts to speak briefly about various plants, so as to allow citizens to learn more about the plant world.
