The representatives of Songjiang district in Shanghai attended the 2019 International Conference of Lakeside Leisure in Huzhou, Zhejiang province on Oct 11.

The conference is to hear ideas on promoting the integration and exchange of resources between tourist resorts in the Yangtze River Delta.

The Yangtze River Delta National Tourist Resort Alliance was thus launched for its members to share information, exchange visitor resources, and lean from each other.

Industry experts and representatives of tourist resorts spoke on their practices, innovation, and international experiences regarding the integration of Yangtze River Delta tourism.

Jin Dongyun, director of the culture and tourism bureau of Songjiang district, delivered a speech on Songjiang's experience and plans.

Located in the southwest of Shanghai, Songjiang is an important hub to integrate the city into the Yangtze River Delta. It's also known as "the cradle of Shanghai culture".

Songjiang's major tourist attractions have been holding promotional events in over 10 cities in Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces. In Huzhou, Jiaxing and Suzhou cities, the delegation showcased the district's unique charms through videos, performances and exhibitions, and talked with local travel agencies on developing cross-region tours.

Tourists from these cities will enjoy exclusive discounts at many popular destinations, including Sheshan Resort.

On the other hand, the culture and tourism bureau encouraged tourist resorts and travel agencies to design festival activities and open new facilities.

Sheshan Resort, for example, has worked to expand its tourism and cultural offerings to create a more pleasant experience for visitors in response to requirements made by the local government.

In early 2018, a brand-new attraction - Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park, opened to the public showcasing historic relics from the late Neolithic Age in China. The relics belong to Songze Culture and Liangzhu Culture, and are important representations of early urban civilization in ancient China.

Shimao Wonderland InterContinental Quarry Hotel, built in an 88-meter-deep abandoned quarry, opened in November 2018. It has 17 floors, more than 300 rooms and dining and entertainment facilities. Guests can view the crags and rocky outcrops from the rooms, whose design adopts natural elements such as waterfalls and seabeds.

A total of 17 new service centers have also started operation to help tourists from home and abroad.[Photo/WeChat account: sheshanlvyoutopnews]
