The Guangfulin Relic Park, a historical site deriving from the Neolithic Age, is to be opened to the public in late 2018.

The prehistoric cultural relic, located in the south of the Sheshan National Tourist Resort, was first discovered in 1989.

After a long period of restoration, the park will reproduce Shanghai's ancient way of life and famous Guangfulin culture in Songjiang district.

Covering 40,000 square meters, the relic park will include different an exhibition area showcasing folk culture, religious culture and local historical heritage.

Visitors will have the chance to enjoy over 5,000 years of culture and history in the park.

The three museums covering more than 9,000 square meters are partially underwater making for a spectacular scene in the park. The construction of the buildings is complete but their interiors are still being refined. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The three special museums are to display cultural relics, reproduce folk customs from the Han dynasty (206 BC-AD220) and tell stories of important historical figures in ancient Shanghai. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
