Shanghai Happy Valley at Sheshan National Tourist Resort hosted a ghost-themed running activity on Oct 24 for the upcoming Halloween.

Participants dressed up in zombie costumes and ran past many rides inside Happy Valley, causing a lot of screams. The prize for the first place winner was a free annual pass to the valley. Caught up by the emotion, many visitors joined the run as well.

Originating in North America during the 2000s, zombie runs have occurred throughout the world. Some have been established as annual traditions, though others are organized as spontaneous flash mob events or performance art.

The Valley will launch more activities in the next few days to celebrate Halloween. Tourists will be able to visit ghost studios or haunted houses to experience different kinds of thrills.
