Chenshan Botanic Garden's is displaying Cherry flowers in full bloom growing alongside a 650-meter-long road forming an amazing and aptly name pink boulevard.

There are many early-blooming cherry flowers among the about 60 varieties of cherry trees in the botancial garden. The early risers have come into blossom and more are expected to follow. The whole flowering period will last until the end of April.

Thanks to the lush rain in early March, the kawazu-zakura planted on the boulevard bloomed three days earlier than previous years. Strolling under the flowers, against the background of the Chenshan Mountain, one may feel like walking in a romantic pink blossoming tunnel.

The kawazu-zakura originated from Japan and have become famous as some of the earliest-blooming cherry blossoms. They are loved and admired by many people because of their tall trunks and big bright flowers. There are also two home-cultivated early-blooming varieties, the Cerasus campanulata and Cerasus discoidea, which are also in full blossom.

The cherry garden is at the east side near Gate 1, occupying an area of about 6,000 square meters. There are more than 1,000 cherry trees in the garden, many of which were introduced from the Netherlands, Germany and Japan.

Visitors can enjoy early-blooming cherry flowers at the 650-meter-long pink boulevard.
