Sheshan tourism sees vibrant growth during festival

Though rainy weather prevailed during the Spring Festival holiday, scenic spots at Sheshan National Resort recorded a tourist volume of 185,000, up 7.9 percent, and generated 10.71 million yuan ($1.70 million) in revenue, representing nearly 5 percent increase.

The winter flower show at Chenshan Botanical Garden attracted 30,400 tourists, representing 12.1 percent increase; the Happy Valley also brought daily comic shows to entertain 53,300 tourists, 12.6 percent increase, and made 9.40 million yuan in ticket sales, up 13.5 percent; while the Shanghai Sheshan National Forest Park received 90,200 tourists during the holiday.

Meanwhile, five major hotels in the area, including the Le Meridian Sheshan, reported accommodating 7,000 tourists throughout the holiday.
