Sheshan National Tourist Resort, in Shanghai's Songjiang district, will build China's first duty-free cultural industrial park that sells international duty-free goods, with the park's construction time undisclosed.

The park, with an area of 600 mu (40 hectares), is expected to become a high-end services industrial park, drawing enterprises that manage businesses of international trade, luxury goods retail, conferences and exhibitions.

It will provide enterprises with services such as commodity display, global procurement, new product launches, international forum sponsoring, and tourism promotion.

The move to establish the park is in accordance with the cooperative agreement signed by Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group) Co., with Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park, in a bid to boost the sales and brand promotion of duty-free goods in China, and increase Shanghai's market share in the world duty-free industry.
