Playa Maya, the sister park of Shanghai Happy Valley Amusement Park, is scheduled to open to tourists during the summer holiday. The aquatic amusement facilities have already been set up.

Playa Maya is separated from Ant Castle of Happy Valley by only one wall. The 40 facilities have won prizes at water park annual meetings in recent years. The main body of the Big Octopus Slide has been finished, but the water supply and treatment systems are still under construction.

Roughly 95 percent of the steel bone and slide of Super Water Village have been completed. Most exciting is that civil engineering of the wave pool, boasting the largest area and highest wave in the world, will be finished by the end of April.

Three months before its opening, curious visitors started to follow Playa Maya on weibo (a Chinese equivalent of twitter). The netizens were most concerned about the price of tickets. The working staff in Playa Maya said that ticket prices have not been set yet; the water park will sell tickets independently. But at the opening, visitors can get a package for both parks at a preferential price.
