On Dec 1, Shanghai Eastern Sheshan Sofitel Plaza held the annual charity event—the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. This time the hotel donated materials to some of the migrant workers' children in Sijing Primary School in Sijing Town, Songjiang district.
In order to help these children, the hotel provided brand new schoolbags, school supplies, and specially made Christmas food to them as presents and encouraged them to study hard and become useful people who can actually make contributions to the society in the future.
Meanwhile, Sofitel Plaza Shanghai also encouraged all attendees to make donations. Those who had donated money to the children were given wish cards; they could write down their wishes and hang the cards on the Christmas tree.
That night after children's dance performance and Christmas carols performance, all the people lit the Christmas tree lights together; the whole event was a great success.
