Professor Chu Zhaoqing, the director of a research group focusing on plant abiotic stress and plant genome evolution for the Shanghai Chenshan Plant Science Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited Singapore Ngee Ann Polytechnics (NP) and was warmly received by Doctor Wu Jiaoling, the director of the School of Life Sciences and Chemical Technology of NP.

Chu exchanged notes and ideas with researchers at NP regarding the heat resistance of lawn grass in Singapore and vertical greening. Chu also visited the production base for Singapore lawn grass.

NP is an important base to cultivate professional and technical personnel in Singapore. It was found in 1963 and is located in northern Singapore. In April, NP visited Chenshan Botanical Garden and one month later the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote further communication and cooperation between the two sides.
