Chenshan Botanical Garden held various activities to celebrate the Double Fifth Festival (the fifth day of the fifth lunar month), also called The Dragon Boat Festival, on June 23, 2012. During the festival holidays, the garden received 4,000 visitors.

The southern entrance to the garden was the site for tourists to make blessing sachets. The staff of Chenshan Botanical Garden collected 10 kinds of herbal and fragrant plants, such as chuangxiong, red valerian, wrinkled giant hyssop and lemon balm. Tourists could make the sachets themselves with the staff`s help and learn about the folk tradition of Double Fifth Festival.

In the garden, children were most fond of the salted egg painting and DIY leaves collages. They could also listen to introductions about various plants.

In addition, the calamus delivery (a plant to drive away mosquitoes and evil spirits) and hollyhock admiration were also favorable activities in the garden.
