The 240-meter Ganxi Stream flows along a canyon in the North American district of Shanghai.
It is carpeted with various shapes of gravels, decorated with ball perennial flowers and ornamental grasses, featuring lingering charms of Japanese rock gardens.
Ball perennial flowers are in full bloom. Beautiful evening primroses, thousand-bird flowers, torch lilies, verbenas, and all sorts of irises creep into the stream.
Looking down at the quarter, people feel as if they’re drifting in a sea of flowers.
The most appealing appears to be the combination of colors. Colors roll out from the north to south: pink, yellow, white, purple and green.
It stretches out and separated into various sections that meander over gravel. Each section forms a view that constitutes a lovely and imposing river of flowers.
Ganxi Stream changes with each season. In spring, it is full of vitality, as it is permeated with fresh small and medium-sized flowers, along with blooming shrubs, such as tulips, Camellia sasanqua and Weigela florida.
In summer, it looks gorgeous with bright colored grass flowers, including azure salvia, day lily and calliopsis.
In autumn, it displays ornamental grasses standing upright and flickering, as represented by pampas and Chinese silver grasses.
In winter, it cultivates vivid fruits and charming tree trunks, such as the red-leave moor besom, Cornus Alba and holly.
