At the foot of Mount Tai, there lives a large number of outstanding people who are deeply influenced by the culture of Mount Tai.

Gu Yanwu (1613 to 1682), born in Kunshan, Jiangshu province, was a great thinker in late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Sima Qian was the great historian and man of letters in the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24).

Li Bai proved to be the great romantic poet in ancient China.

Du Fu had special close relations with Mount Tai.

Su Shi and Su Zhe were celebrated brothers among both politicians and men of letters in Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127).
