Themed tourism train leaves Tai'an for autumn wonderland
The "fairy tale" tourism train set off from Tai'an on Sept 15, heading toward the breathtaking autumn scenery of the Greater Khingan Mountains, Hulunbuir, and Arxan. This inaugural golden autumn tour from Shandong offers a magical journey into North China's most vibrant seasonal landscapes.
Jointly operated by China Railway Jinan Group and Shenyang Group, the Y412 train consists of 14 fully-equipped carriages. Departing from Tai'an and passing through cities such as Jinan and Dezhou, it exemplifies a new model of integrated railway and tourism development. Onboard services include a medical team, tour guides, a travel photographer, and live performances by a Mongolian band, ensuring a rich and comfortable experience for all passengers.
The route spans 2,000 kilometers, enabling direct access to the wonders along the 47th parallel north. From the grasslands of the Arxan National Forest Park to the Erguna River wetland and Manzhouli Port, the journey seamlessly connects forests, grasslands, and historic sites, offering immersive multi-destination autumn views.
Carrying around 380 passengers — mostly retirees — from Tai'an, Jinan, Dezhou, Cangzhou, and Tianjin, the train not only provides a convenient and scenic travel option for seniors but also strengthens regional tourism collaboration and cultural exchange between Shandong and Inner Mongolia, injecting new vitality into local economies.
