Tai'an, South Korea's Taean strengthen ties with new friendship pact
A government delegation from Taean county, South Korea, paid an official visit to Tai'an city in East China's Shandong province from Sept 6 to 8. During the visit, both sides signed a friendship exchange agreement to further enhance cooperation and cultural exchanges.
Li Lanxiang, mayor of Tai'an, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and highlighted Tai'an's socioeconomic progress. He emphasized the historical and cultural connections shared by the two regions and expressed confidence that the agreement would inject new momentum into bilateral relations.
Since their sister-city relationship began in 1997, the two sides have maintained active exchanges in culture, tourism, education, and the economy. The latest visit further deepened practical cooperation and people-to-people bonds.
During their stay, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 39th Taishan Mountain International Climbing Festival and visited Taishan Mountain. They spoke highly of the mountain's majestic landscape, profound cultural heritage, and Tai'an's ongoing development.
