Tai'an brands exploring global market opportunities

Currently, an increasing number of Tai'an brands are going to great efforts to explore global market. According to statistics, from January to November this year, the city's total export trade volume reached 42.37 billion yuan ($5.8 billion), an increase of 19.8 percent year-on-year.

In the mushroom cultivation farm of an edible fungi company in Zhuyang town, Daiyue district in Tai'an, workers skillfully harvest shiitake mushrooms.

The company's export salesperson, Lyv Qiyu, said that currently, shiitake mushrooms sell for 5 to 10 yuan per kilogram domestically, but can fetch 30 yuan or even higher per kilogram when exported to the United States. The company's mushroom stick products are in high demand overseas, and the price difference between domestic and foreign markets has brought significant economic benefits to the company.

Mushroom stick production is a relatively niche industry. Lyu Qiyu stated that the company began market research last year and decided to expand into foreign markets.

Another company, Tai'an Lixinyuan Industry and Trade Co Ltd also relies on high-quality products to gain market share.

In the packaging workshop of Lixinyuan, workers pack selected chestnuts into mesh bags. These chestnuts are sold to various regions nationwide and many places overseas. Accounting for about a quarter of China's total chestnut exports, Lixinyuan's high export volume is due to its superior products.

To support enterprises venturing into international markets, Tai'an city has introduced policies this year to coordinate policy funds at all levels. Based on advantageous industries, the city is intently conducting trade matchmaking activities outside the city and concentrated promotion events.
