Daiyue district

Daiyue district is the administrative area at the county level which was set up in 1985 when Tai'an city was founded. It lies to the south of Jinan, the capital of Shandong province; borders upon Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, to the south.

In 2023, the annual gross regional product (GDP) of Daiyue district reached 44 billion yuan ($6.12 billion), an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the previous year.

In 2023, the district's urban and rural residents' per capita disposable income reached 45,389 yuan, and 23,904 yuan, respectively.

Daiyue district is the middle point of the "One Mountain, One River and One Saint" tourism hot route.

Daiyue district is a vast land with abundant products, with a superior geographical location. Therefore, it has many advantages in external communication and cooperation. Mineral resources abound in Daiyue district. Up to now, there have been 48 kinds of minerals discovered, among which 19 kinds' yield has been proved up. In these minerals, the reserves of plaster stone is 24.78 billion tons, the native sulfur is 3.19 billion tons, which tops nationwide; the reserves of halite is 2.17billion tons, which occupies an important position in Shandong province. Besides, the Mount Tai granite is renowned both at home and abroad, among which the Mount Tai Red, the Mount Tai Black as well as the Mount Tai Hua are known as the King of Stone.

Daiyue district has a long history with profound cultural deposits. In this area, there are totally more than 100 historical and cultural relics which are recorded in documents. 6000 years ago, the famous Dawenkou Culture (about 4040BC - 2240BC) derived here, which was the important milestone in the Chinese civilization history.

Daiyue district boasts popular tourist attractions, including Mount Tai (the World Cultural and Natural Heritage), Culai Mount National Forest Park, known as "natural oxygen bar"; the Dawenkou Basin, known as "the treasure bowl of Shandong Province", as well as the Dawenkou Culture Relics, accredited as one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization. There are more than 100 historical and cultural relics which have been recorded in documents and several scores of modern eco-attractions with the main features of characteristic fruits and vegetables.

The main scenic spots are as follows: Mountain beyond Mountain Leisure Holiday Zone, the Mount Tai Spring City, the Jindou Mountain Ecological Garden, the Tianting Fairyland, ten thousand mu pear orchard with a long history, the Shenlong Grand Canyon, Xiao Daheng Tomb, the Mount Tai West Emperor Road Relics, Wuliang Palace and the Qi Dynasty great wall relics which have already been the ideal leisure tourist attractions popular with the tourists both at home and abroad.

The natural and cultural tourist resources are plentiful. Tourism has already been the high point of the economic development of the whole district.
