A cultural festival highlighting Yellow River and Mount Tai kicked off in Tai'an, Shandong province on Oct 9.

Beginning in 2018, the cultural festival has advanced the continual development of tourism in Tai'an through promoting the cultures of the Yellow River and Mount Tai.

The event has not only strengthened cultural exchanges along the Yellow River in Shandong, but also invited cultural promotion teams from provinces along the river's path like Henan and Shanxi. The event sparked a wave of enthusiasm with thousands of attendees and receiving wide acclaim from various sectors of society.

In recent years, Tai'an has made high-standard advancements in the construction of the ecological protection and high-quality development pilot zone in the Yellow River Basin, and revitalized traditional Chinese cultures related to the Yellow River, Mount Tai, and Dawenkou.

"We hold the cultural festival to explore the rich connotations and values of Yellow River culture and Mount Tai culture, integrate elements of the cultures of the Yellow River and Mount Tai, and deepen the public's understanding of traditional culture. At the same time, we hope to use culture as a catalyst to promote the better development of Tai'an's cultural and tourism industry," said Zheng Xin, a member of the festival's organizing committee.
