Diplomats in China visit Mount Tai in Tai'an
Nine diplomats from countries and institutions including Croatia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico visited Tai'an, Shandong province on April 22.
They ascended to the summit of Mount Tai in Mount Tai Scenic Area and visited landmarks such as the Nantian Gate, Tianjie Street, and Yuhuang Peak, while also learning about the rich culture surrounding the mountain.
They found themselves impressed by the mountain's natural beauty and cultural richness of Mount Tai and promised to share their experiences after returning home.
At the Tai'an cultural and creative tourism product exhibition, which was held on the same day, 18 companies displayed more than 200 types of Tai'an specialty cultural and creative tourism products, including Lu embroidery lace, Tai'an paper-cutting, Taishan shadow puppetry, and Tai'an jade carving. The diverse and unique exhibits dazzled the foreign visitors, with their distinctive folk culture and long history earning admiration.
During the event, the diplomats also gained insights to the development of Tai'an's cultural and tourism industries, watched a Taishan shadow puppet show, and received souvenirs.
The trip to Tai'an marks the first stop of the 2024 "Discover China Cultural Tour" of Shandong for Diplomats in China, which will be officially launched at the 2024 Shandong High-Quality Tourism Development Conference, which kicked off on April 25.
