A Lantern Festival event was held in a community in Taishan district, Tai'an, Shandong province, on Feb 22, immersing residents and community workers in the festive vibes.

During the event, participants learned to make tangyuan, or glutinous rice dumplings, which symbolize reunion.

The community workers prepared 60 lantern riddles for participants to solve. Solving lantern riddles has been a traditional folk game on Lantern Festival since ancient times. Participants had a great time solving the riddles, which ranged from sayings and idioms to animals and names.
