A Spring Festival celebration was held in Lugo, a sister-city of Tai'an in Italy, during the Spring Festival holiday from Feb 10 to 17, with people of both cities delivering their best wishes to each other.

During the event, over 100 creative paintings themed on the Chinese dragon and created by teenagers from Tai'an were showcased on an international sister-city teenager painting and calligraphy exhibition in Lugo.

More than 2,000 students from middle schools and primary schools in Tai'an wrote a total of 2,024 Chinese fu characters as gifts to government departments, public institutions, local people, and overseas Chinese in Lugo. The Spring Festival vibes filled the air in the Italian city.

The event not only introduced the Spring Festival culture to Italian people, but also enhanced the friendship and mutual trust between the people of the two cities.

Since establishing sister-city relations in 2010, Tai'an and Lugo have been deepening exchanges and cooperation, carrying out a diverse array of educational exchange activities.

Before Spring Festival, students from Tai'an Experimental High School and Lugo Science and Technology High School in Italy conducted an online exchange themed on the Year of the Dragon and Chinese zodiac.

More students and schools will participate in school exchange programs in the future, according to the Tai'an municipal bureau of education.
