Tai'an strengthens ties with South Korea's Taean county
Representatives from Tai'an in East China's Shandong province recently took part in an online cultural and tourism exchange with counterparts from Taean, a county in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, to foster ties between the two places.
Taean has over 30 seaside attractions that attract approximately 15 million visitors annually, according to introductions by representatives from both places during the online meeting on Dec 5.
Tai'an, on the other hand, is renowned for being the home of Mount Tai, a major attraction for international tourists. Mount Tai, which is situated in the center of Shandong province, earned the prestigious title of "World Geopark" in 2006.
The Mount Tai Scenic Area has in recent years strengthened international cooperation by establishing friendly relationships with iconic destinations such as the Alps and Mount Fuji. This UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site experienced a remarkable 305.16 percent increase in visitors this year, with tourist numbers exceeding 8.5 million, a new record high.
The Taeanhaean National Park has themed courtyards adorned with seasonal flowers and Manripo Beach, a coastal resort spanning 231,406 square meters.
