Tai'an boosts growth in industries in Jan-Aug period

From January to August, the added value of large-scale industries in Tai'an increased by 11.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

This figure is 4.2 percentage points higher than the provincial average, and is the seventh highest in the province.

Of the 37 industrial categories in Tai'an, 22 saw a year-on-year growth in added value.

Nine industries saw an increase in the first eight months. For example, added value in the non-metallic mineral extraction industry surged 55.2 percent year-on-year, while the added values of the black metal smelting and processing industry, food manufacturing industry and pharmaceutical manufacturing rose 43 percent, 41 percent, and 38.1 percent respectively.

From January to August, the added value of the Tai'an's above-scale consumer goods manufacturing industry increased 18.4 percent year-on-year. In August alone, the industry recorded a monthly growth of 10.3 percent. This was mainly due to activity in the food manufacturing and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors.

From January to August, the total export delivery value of the Tai'an's large-scale industrial enterprises was 9.87 billion yuan ($1.35 billion). Among the 57 industrial subcategories with export activities in the city, 32 industries achieved year-on-year growth.
