37th Mount Tai Intl Climbing Festival opens

The 37th Mount Tai International Climbing Festival took place in Tai'an on Sept 5, with nearly 500 guests from 17 cities of 11 countries from home and abroad attending the opening ceremony.
Yang Hongtao, Party secretary of Tai'an, said at the opening ceremony that the festival was initiated in 1987 and has since then been an opportunity for Tai'an to seek cooperation and expand openness, attract guests from all over the world, and deepen exchanges and cooperation.
Li Lanxiang, Tai'an mayor, presented a promotion of Taian's culture and tourism at the opening ceremony. Li mentioned that Tai'an has attracted global interest due to its diverse cultural and historical significance, picturesque scenery, lively traditions, and welcoming atmosphere. He warmly welcomed people from home and abroad to visit the picturesque city.
Hussam Al Husseini, Jordanian ambassador to China, congratulated the opening of the 37th Mount Tai International Climbing Festival.
At the opening ceremony, musical instruments, dance performances, and Chinese opera were also showcased.
