The Mount Taishan Culture Experience Camp event took place in Tai'an, Shandong province, from July 8 to 9 and was attended by 16 expats from countries and regions of Russia, the United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as 21 Chinese youths attending the 2023 Global Youth Conference.

The event was a sub-event of the 2023 Global Youth Conference, which was held from July 6 to 9 in Jinan. The event was aimed at building a platform to display Chinese culture, tell Chinese stories, and promote the voice of China, as well as promote Mount Tai culture and Chinese culture to the world.

At the opening ceremony of the event, Alekseikarpov, a Russian student who studies at Beijing Normal University, shared his experience of learning Chinese martial arts and studying in China, and expressed his determination of scaling Mount Tai.

A roundtable discussion was also held with five representatives, including Sun Lihai, deputy dean of Shandong Academy of Chinese Culture, and Benjamin Coles, associate professor of Huaqiao University, sharing their opinions about Chinese culture.

The youths visited Shigandang Cultural Park and the Dai Temple on July 8 to learn about folk culture and the history behind the ancient architectures. They also got to enjoy performances of intangible cultural heritage items like Taishan Shadow Puppetry.

The youths then embarked on trip to Mount Tai on July 9, during which they visited scenic spots on the mountain and learned how to appreciate inscription and Chinese calligraphy.
