Daiyue district in Tai'an received the Advanced Country award for boosting culture and tourism industries in 2022 at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Shandong Tourism Development Conference on March 26.
In recent years, Daiyue district has been boosting the integrated development of culture and tourism industries, and formed a layout of cultural tourism in the south, folk culture tourism in the west, countryside tourism in the east, and leisure tourism in the central area.
Based on its superior natural resources such as Mount Tai, Daiyue district has bolstered its efforts to attract businesses in the four leading industries of leisure tours, agricultural sightseeing, high-end homestays, and sanatoriums.
A 25-kilometer sightseeing road around Jiunv Peak was recently paved, which not only made the road better for rural tourism, but also laid a solid foundation for industries to develop. The district has developed a slew of new businesses involving ecological sanatoriums, cultural research and education, and Red tourism, such as the Jiunvfeng Study, which has become a must-visit spot in the area.
Daiyue district has also been beefing up traditional Chinese medicine brand development, such as planting huangjing, a renowned medicinal herb found on Mount Tai, to make the tourism industrial chain stronger.
Daiyue district has also explored its cultural resources to develop characteristic tourism programs like the Dawenkou Site to increase the cultural value of its tourism industry.
