Tai'an launches weekly event for overseas travel agents
A weekly overseas travel agent promotion event was launched in Tai'an, Shandong province on March 22, attracting nearly 30 overseas travel agents from eight countries, including Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and the United States, to cooperate and boost inbound tourism in Tai'an.
Mount Tai is a renowned cultural mountain and Tai'an is a cultural tourism city with a strong reputation all over the world, said Zhang Mingchi, deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, at the launch ceremony.
Zhang added that Tai'an will take the weekly promotion event as an opportunity to further boost the high-quality development of its culture and tourism sectors.
Patrick Law, Secretary of the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA), the largest Chinese travel agent organization in Malaysia, said that the association will introduce more attractive scenic areas to people in order to help boost the tourism industry in both China and Malaysia.
Four theme routes, such as the "four-day boutique tour in Tai'an", were introduced and promoted after the launch ceremony.
Representatives of Tai'an's travel agencies signed cooperation agreements with overseas travel agency representatives at the ceremony.
The weekly promotion event will last until March 28, during which the overseas travel agents will visit major scenic areas in Tai'an on site and compile boutique travel routes for inbound tours.
