Tai'an beefed up efforts to boost the high-quality development of its characteristic metal material industrial chain in 2022.

Statistics showed that companies above designated size that are involved in the industrial chain achieved an operating income of 50.09 billion yuan ($7.37 billion) in 2022, an increase of 10.5 percent from that in 2021, and received a total fixed-asset investment worth 7.07 billion yuan.

In 2022, Tai'an cultivated one national "little giant" company, five provincial-level small and medium-sized companies, and nine municipal-level small and medium-sized companies that are involved in the characteristic metal material industry to boost the industry's development.

Tai'an formed a layout for its characteristic metal material industrial chain, which is led by Shiheng Special Steel Group's advanced steel manufacturing industrial base. The layout also includes three characteristic industrial parks – a high-end metal surface treatment cycle industrial park in Dongping county, a heavy industrial intelligent equipment park in Daiyue district, and Amer's new metal material industrial park, as well as four supply chain platforms and various business attraction projects.
