Tai'an sees tourism rebound during holiday

Statistics showed that 19 scenic spots including A-level ones and countryside tourist attractions in Tai'an, Shandong province, received a total of 1.8 million visitors from Jan 21 to 27, surging 130.16 percent year-on-year.
The Mount Tai Scenic Area alone received a total of 291,700 visitors, soaring 193.58 percent year-on-year.
During the Chinese New Year holiday from Jan 21 to 27, eight A-level scenic spots offered entrance tickets for free, receiving 913,500 visitors and surging 315 percent year-on-year.
Other scenic spots promoted various tour programs such as winter-time hot spring tours, ski, night and rural folk tours to meet visitors' diverse travelling needs.
Tai'an also staged various cultural and tourism performances and exhibitions. For example, the Tai'an Art Museum held five exhibition events, showcasing Chinese calligraphy and paintings by artists of different generations. The Tai'an City Cultural Centre held an online exhibition of intangible cultural heritage items, and the Tai'an Library held reading activities featuring Chinese New Year characteristics.
Tai'an's districts also planned various activities to entertain residents and visitors during the seven-day holiday. For example, Taishan Tianyihu Tourist Resort attracted visitors with lanterns and shopping at bazaars to celebrate the festival.
