A groundbreaking ceremony for a high-end environmental protection pharmaceutical production base took place in Ningyang county, Tai'an, Shandong province on April 23.

With a total investment of 1.28 billion yuan ($195.19 million), the production base will be equipped with two new production lines and 180 sets of new equipment.

The first phase of the production base is expected to produce 37,600 metric tons of high-end fine chemicals every year after completion and the second phase is expected to have an annual output of 66,000 tons of high-end fine chemicals, including 60,000 tons of high-end new liquid dyes and 6,000 tons of functional special plastic colorants.

After the production base reaches full production, it can achieve 3 billion yuan in annual sales revenue and offer employment to 200 people.
