Experts visited more than 60 Taoist places of worship in cities including Dezhou of Shandong province, Qianxi of Hebei province and Beijing, to collect religious stories and the goddess's images.

After sorting out materials by professors from Shandong University, professional design by experts and three expert meetings, the standard image of Bixiayuanjun was finally determined.

As well as being an important part of the culture of Mount Tai, Taoism occupies an important place in Chinese history and culture. The publicity of the standard image of Bixiayuanjun will help promote tourism to Mount Tai, as well as promote and protect its distinctive culture.
