As one of the top ten high-tech industrial development zones endorsed by its home province Shandong authority, Tai'an Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone is a demonstration zone of scientific development and an advanced zone in terms of opening-up in Shandong.

Thanks to its landscaping, the Zone is now an important component of Tai'an's gardening tourism portfolio.

With years of effort since 1994, the Zone has developed into a modern presence featuring a highly-developed economy with optimized structure, highly-effective management and sound environment.

Traffic networks complete with railways and highways sharpens the Zone's competitive edge.

The Beijing-Shanghai Express Railway shortens the Tai'an-Beijing distance to a two-hour ride and the Tai'an-Shanghai distance to a three-hour ride.

The Zone focuses on developing industries including the automobile and parts, mechanical equipments, medicine and new materials.

Sound investment environment has attracted domestic and foreign investors to build a presence in the Zone. Among these investors are 20 World Top 500 enterprises and China's top 100 enterprises.

To date, six distinct industrial bases have been shaped in the Zone. The following is the main introduction to these bases.

Automobile Parts Base

This base is expected to be developed into an auto, especially automobile parks production base featuring development and research, production and sales. Businesses focus on producing main parts for special vehicle, engineering vehicles and cars.

Power Transmission and Transformation Equipment Base

This base focuses on developing products including complete equipments for high voltage switches, transformers mutual inductor, and Automatic control systems of transformer substation and high-voltage cables.

Mining Equipment Base

Efforts are put on developing and producing equipments encouraged by national authorities including comprehensive digging, hoisting and washing equipments and the mining safety monitoring system with intellectual property rights.

Food and Pharmaceutical base

Focus on developing and producing medical aerosol, cortical hormone, new medicines and biological health care products.

New Material Base

With great efforts on introducing core projects of processing glass fiber, in a bid to develop new types of glass fiber and quality products including technical fabric yarn, bulked yarn, reinforced thermoplastic, chopped fiber and new insulators in electronic field.

Electronic Information Base

This base focuses on developing application software, information network and system integration. Certain enterprises of information service and electronic products are set to be cultivated in the Base.
