Tai'an: Int'l taijiquan competition to kick off this month
The Taishan International Taijiquan will run from May 19 to 22 in Tai'an, Shandong province.
The event has already drawn taijiquan enthusiasts from more than 30 countries and regions, such as Germany, France, Canada and the US, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
The competition will include individual events, like Chen, Yang, Wu and Sun styles of Taijiquan, and group events, like tai chi push-hands.
"It's more than a competition," a staff member of the organizer said, adding that it’s also an exchange meeting.
The organizing committee will invite 17 masters, including the creator of Dongyue taijiquan, Men Huifeng, to give lessons to and interact with the contestants.
